Graham Smith UK rigorously enforces compliance to all relevant Health and Safety legislation in order to ensure the provision and maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment.

All employees are informed and aware of the necessity of complying with all current legislation and non-legal requirements which are relevant to the activities, products, and services supplied. Health and safety performance is maximised by ensuring employees are alert to all hazards and associated risks, eliminate complacency, and accept their own personal responsibilities.

All hazards and risks are identified and controlled through the implementation and operation of a system which meets the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001:2007.

The Management Team regularly reviews the Health and Safety Management System and the objectives set to ensure its ongoing effectiveness and the commitment to continual improvement in minimising the risks associated with the activities, products and/or services supplied.

Quality

Commitment to understanding and meeting the quality needs of all customers is paramount to Graham Smith UK. A comprehensive system has been established which conforms to all the requirements of the BS EN ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance standard.

We strive to ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved at all times with a quality system which focuses on the following principles:

• All products and services provided to customers are fit for intended purpose, conform to customer requirements, national and international standards where necessary, and company procedures.
• Commitment to quality is made by ALL company employees and is therefore an integral part of their responsibilities.
• The Management Team continually reviews quality procedures, with a dedication to ongoing improvement.

All employees must treat everyone fairly, have mutual respect and avoid the intent and appearance of unethical or compromising practices. The Management team sets a prime example, with an open door policy to welcome suggestions and concerns from employees.

Compliance with the highest information security management standards has been recognised with our BS EN ISO 27001 certification.

Environmental

Environmental considerations are extremely important to Graham Smith UK, and these are taken into account at all stages of business planning, development, production and marketing, whilst the business continues to produce high quality products to our customers’ specification and satisfaction.

Management is carried out in accordance with our BS EN ISO 14001 environmental accreditation. In particular, the following objectives are pursued as far as is reasonably practicable:

• Conservation of energy.
• Conservation of natural resources used in our manufacturing and despatch operation, particularly in the use of packing.
• Minimisation of waste in production and packaging.
• Reduction of solvents in the workplace and atmosphere.
• Provision of safe, clean and hygienic working conditions.
• Reduction of noise levels to lowest levels practicable for employees and members of the public.
• Safe storage and disposal of waste to meet ‘Duty of Care’ requirements.
• The responsible development, operation and maintenance of plant and associated processes to reflect the principles above.
